The TDCJ Victim Services Division is dedicated to providing direct, personal service to victims and their families throughout Texas, as well as, assisting those outside our state to the all-time of our ability. • TDCJ is pleased to announce its new "Links Library." This new resource provides links to helpful tools, information, brochures, and helplines for victims of crime. Our goal is to connect y'all to information you may demand to navigate the criminal justice system, exercise your rights as a victim of crime and admission support and aid. Links Library allows criminal offence victims to discover information organized by topics with a brief description of the agency and how they tin assist you. • The TDCJ Victim Services Division is pleased to announce that we take implemented a new Integrated Victim Services Organization (IVSS) to manage victim notification and resource information. Notification

Written Notification

The Integrated Victim Services Organization (IVSS) utilizes a confidential database to provide registrants with notifications regarding offenders in the TDCJ Correctional Institutions Sectionalization (CID) or under the supervision of the TDCJ Parole Partitioning (PD). Notifications are now available via e-mail, letter, text or whatsoever combination of your choosing. The IVSS provides notifications apropos phases of the criminal justice organisation, post-conviction. This includes the parole review process, release to supervision or belch and warrant deportment during periods of supervision.

Text Notification

The TDCJ Victim Services Sectionalization now offers text notifications to all registrants on a variety of notifications. Please note that data is process through the IVSS system 24 hours a day 7 days a calendar week. It is possible to receive notifications by e-post and text message at all hours of the twenty-four hours. Texas Criminal offence Victim Clearinghouse (TxCVC)

The Texas Criminal offence Victim Clearinghouse (TxCVC) provides training and technical assistance to criminal justice and victim services professionals and directly services to crime victims. The goal of the TxCVC is to provide focus, leadership, and coordination necessary to proceed and improve services and so that victims are afforded a full measure of justice and all possible assistance. The TxCVC was established and operated by the Governor's Office in 1983 until its official transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Victim Services Segmentation (VSD) in March of 1996.

Victim Offender Mediation Dialogue (VOMD)

The TDCJ Victim Services Division Victim Offender Mediation Dialogue (VOMD) plan, in accordance with Lawmaking of Criminal Process fine art. 56A.602, provides an opportunity for victims or surviving family members of vehement criminal offense to initiate an in-person meeting with the TDCJ offender responsible for their victimization. Artistic alternatives to mediation are also an option, and typically include a alphabetic character written by the victim. Offender Amends Bank

The Victim Services Division processes received unsolicited letters from offenders incarcerated in TDCJ - Correctional Institutions Division (adult prison house arrangement) expressing apologies to the victims of their crimes. To reduce the likelihood of possible re-victimization, the VSD processes appropriate apology messages according to the established sectionalization procedures.

Upon receipt of an amends alphabetic character from an offender, the VSD staff screen the letter and first determine whether applicative contact rules, laws, or court orders prohibit the offender from contacting the victim. If and then, the VSD may report an offender for the possible violation and the apology letter process shall end. If an apology letter is screened and approved for farther processing, the VSD will attempt to contact the victim to inform them of the alphabetic character, and offering them the option of receiving the letter.

The offender is not notified as to whether or non the victim was successfully contacted or the victim's determination regarding the letter. In the effect that the VSD is unable to contact a victim most an advisable apology letter, the letter of the alphabet is stored and shall exist available at the asking of the victim.
